1863 and 1872-1874 Matilda and Emily Lankshear in service through South Metropolitan School District

see 1840 Joseph LANKSHEAR marriage to Sarah Fowler - Newington

A great look up by a friend - many thanks to Judy Lester

The entries transcribed below are from a report book of the South Metropolitan School District. After girls were discharged to service, a school official went to visit them to check the girls were doing Ok and the employers were satisfied. These are the entries found for Matilda and Emily. There is no sign of any other Lankshears in these registers. I realise this doesn't help you find what eventually happened to these girls, but it might add a bit of colour to your family tree. Hope you like it!

Emily Lankshear was admitted to the South Metropolitan School District in Brighton Road, Sutton, on 26 November 1863. She was stated to be born 1857 and the reason given is Father in Workhouse.

Matilda Lankshear was admitted a week later, on 3 December 1863. She was stated to be born 1854 and the reason given is Parents in Workhouse.
