1871 Thomas Lankshear living with Emma and her son Henry in Chiswick

I was looking at findmypast and they had these as Lankshear whereas Ancestry had as Lankster hence I had been ignoring them

Clearly it is Thomas - age is round about and he is from Bloomsbury which Thomas always said.

Sadly it means he has left his wife 1833 Thomas Lankshear marriage to Jane Sophia Barrow

and where is his wife 1871 census Jane LANKSHEAR wife of Thomas visiting her brother in law

Thomas Lankshear 55 Bloomsbury head

No marriage to Emma obviously and Henry does not appear in BMD as a Lankshear

So I went looking for a Henry with mother Emma in 1861

and this fits them very well - Emma right age born Chelmsford and Henry right age and Islington and note he is Thomas Henry.

Plus where are they living but Hornsey, Middlesex and where was Thomas in 1861 Thomas and Jane Lankshear you got it

Anthony in his research had Thomas and Jane with a son Henry Saville Lankshear born/died 1834 - perhaps Thomas asked Emma to call this boy Henry.
Whereas Emma wanted to call him Thomas. But I cannot find a birth under these names or any possible marriage of an Emma to a Laing. The name does look like Laing.
If anyone can find anything on Henry Saville of c1834 please let me know. or the Laings

Emma Laing abt 1837 Chelmsford, Essex Wife - note she says wife of a miner but the status column has Mar with almost a question mark alongside it. However I am not seeing an Emma Laing from Chelmsford so perhaps she had been married. Of course I may be wrong on this Emma and Henry but they do seem to fit Thomas's household in 1871

Then this sadly for Thomas does seem to be her

Emma Lankshear Death Dec 1872 Wandsworth vol 1d-352 (age 35 born c1837)

Then next census 1881 Thomas Lankshear aged 70 living with Ann Worsley cousin - actually not clear if Ann is really his cousin or just his landlady.

I tried a Emma Worsley scenario but nothing coming up - anyway Ann is up there in Salford a long way from Chelmsford. Perhaps Thomas just moved well away from London after this sad affair.
