When Jimmy BERRY of Fairfield, got around to having his wife's long-cherished new dining room kitchen built last month, he decided it would be a good idea to do a good job of it and not have to do it again. About that time, the old Robert CUTRELL house on the ""Back Road" a mile behind his own home on Lake Mattamuskeet, was torn down. Jimmy could remember the house had stood at least half a century and he no doubt, figured that since the heart cypress from which it was built, seemed as good as new, then use of it in the new addition should give him a nice 50 year vacation from kitchen-dining building chores. As a matter of fact, Jimmy knows from his father, the late Ira BERRY, that the house was at least 70 years old. Jimmy and his father between them have lived on what was the old H. Clay CARTER farm for the past 80 years. His brother, Reuben also farmed there before moving to Bath several years ago. His wife, Mrs. Katie BERRY's maiden was BERRY. Most of Mr. & Mrs. BERRY's children have grown up on this house and the younger ones will finish growing up here. Two of their daughters are registered nurses. They are Mrs. Ethel Berry HILL of Rocky Mount, doing private duty, and Mrs. Thelma Berry ALEXANDER, a nurse at the Columbia Hospital. Another daughter, Mrs. Betty Berry THOMPSON is married to a farmer at Esmond, North Dakota. A son, J.B. BERRY, is farming at home. Miss Kathleen BERRY, another daughter, is attending Carolina School of Commerce at Rocky Mount. Wayne BERRY attends Swan Quarter High School and the youngest, Henry BERRY, attends Fairfield Elementary School. Jimmy, an active Mason, farms about 250 acres with his son, J.B.
