The earliest known ancestor for this line is William Berry who was born about 1758. He can be documented through his 1823 Hawkins County, Tennessee will which shows that his wife’s first name was Sueanne. His children are Thomas Berry (married Hannah Day), Francis Berry (married Esther Mehettibell Day), Elizabeth Berry (married Unknown Walker), Rachael Berry, Sarah Berry (married Benoni Morland) and William Berry. Descendants of this line can be found in Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, and Arizona. While we have not yet located documentary evidence to connect this Hawkins County, Tennessee BERRY family with the Augusta County, Virginia BERRY family, Y-DNA results show a close family relationship.
