The earliest known ancestor of this line is Green Berry who was born circa 1804 in North Carolina. On the 1880 census, the birthplace of Green Berry's father was reported as Virginia. Green Berry married Anney Harrison on 3 June 1828 in Rockingham Co, NC. Green Berry appeared on the 1850 census for Sumner County, Tennessee, 1860 in Simpson County, Kentucky, 1870 in Robertson County, Tennessee and 1880 in Logan County, Kentucky. Green Berry died between 1880 and 1900. The following children were living in his home in 1850: John, b. 1830; James, b. 1832; William, b. 1833; Talitha or Tabitha, b. 1836; Asa, b. 1839; Alfred, b. 1841; Andrew, b. 1843; and Thomas, b. 1845.

Descendants of this line can be found in Tennessee, Kentucky, and New Mexico.
