A veteran member of the Mahone Bay fire department,
he was employed for more than half a century with the oar and block works firm of G. A. Westhaver.

He is survived by three sons; Maurice, Vancouver:
Donald and Ralph, Mahone Bay;
one daughter Elmira, who returned home 15 years ago to care for her parents;
a brother, Lawrence, in Mahone Bay;
four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
His wife predeceased him two years ago.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today from St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, with the Rev. Harry S. CORBIN officiating.
Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
