Donald Bernard "Donnie" Dobson
April 8, 1937 - October 27, 2004
DOBSON, Donald Bernard "Donnie" - 67, Oxford, died Wednesday, October
27, 2004, in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in
Oxford, he was a son of the late Noble and Della (Rushton) Dobson. He
worked with Cobequid Lumber Company in Oxford Junction for 25 years,
then for the Oxford Foundry, and later with the Town of Oxford until
his retirement in 1992 due to his illness. Donnie
was a member of the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department from 1972 to
1992, when he became an honorary member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing
and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, the
former Betty Langille; daughters, Evelyn (Myron) Murray,
Williamsdale; Beverly (Tim) Mills, Oxford; Donna Taylor (Eddie
Blanchard), Streets Ridge; Crystal Hunter (Joe O'Brien), Little River;
brother, Gerald, Oxford; sisters, Alma Allen, Oxford; Paulene Allen,
Springhill; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) and Anthony Murray, Sandy
(Becky) and Chris Mills, J.R. Murray, Walter (Ashley), Betty Anne
(Robin) and Donald Milley, Nichole and Jasmine Dobson, Katarina
O'Brien; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Milley, Hope and Michael
McArthur. He was predeceased by his brothers, Basil, Aubrey, Wilson,
Norman, and Eddie; sisters, Daisy, Bertha, and Doris. Visitation will
be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, with funeral
service at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 31, both in MacDiamid's Funeral
Home, 5075 Main St., Oxford (447-2930). Family flowers only.
