MITCHELL, Mary Lucinda - 90, Amherst, formerly of Oxford and Westchester, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2005, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in River John, Pictou Co., she was the daughter of the late Fraser and Edna E. (Langille) Langill. Following graduation from Normal College in Truro, she taught in a number of schools in Pictou County, Colchester County and Cumberland County for over 35 years until the time of her retirement in 1975. She was an active member of and elder of Millvale United Church, and served on various church committees. She was a delegate of the Truro Presbytery. She served as secretary-treasurer of Millvale United Cemetery until the time of her passing. She was an active supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society. She was very much involved and participated in all local and community events. Surviving are sons, Dr. Donald "D.K." Rushton (Joyce), Sydney; Curtis A. Rushton (Beth), Topsfield, Me.; grandchildren, Edward Rushton, Gregory Rushton, Steven Rushton, Scott Rushton, Travis Rushton (Stephanie), Jerrod Rushton (Janice); great- grandchildren, Brooke Rushton and Jayden Rushton; a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Hestle K. Rushton; second husband, Donald M. Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth S. (MacInnis) Rushton. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, in Millvale United Church, with Ruth Gamble officiating. Interment will take place in Millvale United Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Millvale United Church Memorial Fund, Millvale United Cemetery Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
