Charles William Langille
January 29, 1930 - April 7, 2008
LANGILLE, Charles William "Charlie" - 78, Country Harbour, passed
away April 7, 2008, at home after a long battle with cancer. Born
January 29, 1930, in Harrigan Cove, Halifax Co., he was a son of the
late Murdock Ellis Russell Langille and Estella Tressa (McDonald)
Langille-Ingemanson. Charlie worked in various lumber camps as a
teenager. As a young man, he sailed the Great Lakes as a Wheels man
for six years. Carpentry was his passion, which he excelled in. He
built commercial buildings as well as houses traveling throughout the
Maritimes. He was very proud of his Mi'kmaq heritage, and served as
an Elder in Zone 7 of the Native Council of Nova Scotia. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing and making crafts. His laughter and witty sense of
humor will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is
survived by his wife, Lorna Jean (Malloy); brothers, Lawrence,
Trenton; Percy (Lorraine), Newtown; sisters, Freda (Robert) Peddle,
Toronto; Rita (George) Sinclair, Goshen; sons, Robert (Anouk),
Ottawa; Charles Jr. (Shauna), Moncton, N.B.; daughters, Darlene
(Michael) Smith, Country Harbour; Teresa, at home; grandchildren,
Adam (Melissa), Country Harbour; Amy, Calgary; Arietta (Travis),
Country Harbour; Megan, Antigonish; Brynn (Adam), Halifax; Alexander,
Moncton, N.B.; Aaron, Grande Prairie, Alta.; great-grandchildren,
Cody, Antigonish; Avery, Country Harbour; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brother, Clarence. Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2
p.m. in Zion United Church, Country Harbour, with Keith Selwyn-Smith
officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Reception to follow in
United Church Hall. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations
may be made to Zion United Church, Country Harbour. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New
Glasgow.
