Joan Minerva MacDonald (nee Langille)

MacDONALD, Joan Minerva - 71, Onslow, passed away Saturday morning, August 4, 2007, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, after a long courageous battle with diabetes. Born in Wentworth, she was a daughter of the late Hollie and Dorothy (Swallow) Langille. She is survived by her loving husband, Basil "Bud" MacDonald; daughter, Shelly; son, Gary; sister, Kathleen (Kaye) Redmond; brother, Lloyd (Shirley) Langille; grandson, Gaven MacDonald; and daughter-in-law, Ronda. She was predeceased by sons, John and Bruce; brothers, Gerald and Wayne; an infant sister. Joan was a member of the United Church Women of Onslow and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro, Women's Auxiliary. She was happily employed with Best Western Hotel, Glengarry, for a number of years. Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m. with a memorial service Tuesday, August 7, at 2 p.m., Rev. Gerald Kerr officiating, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Private interment will be in Wentworth United Church Cemetery, Wentworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.
