LANGILLE, Jean Florence - 86. It is with heavy, saddened hearts the children of Jean announce her passing, peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, on September 29, 2008. She was the eldest daughter of the late Frank and Janie (MacDonald) Henderson of Seafoam. She lived most of her adult life in Pictou. First and foremost she was a wonderful, loving mother, devoted wife, and friend to all. She was a lifelong member of St. James Anglican Church. She worked outside the home later in life, with her first employer being G.J. Hamilton and Sons. She was also employed for a time by the lobster factory in Caribou. Her most rewarding employment was with Edward Mortimer Place (presently Shiretown Nursing Home) where she was employed as a cook for 12 years. Here she was truly recognized by staff and residents for her wonderful cooking abilities as well as her endearing personality. Jean loved to bowl and belonged to several bowling leagues. She also enjoyed playing the accordion, knitting and crocheting, and playing auction 45's. Jean is survived by her daughter, Judy (Tom) Flowers, Pembroke, N.H.; sons, Robert (Valerie), Hamilton, Ont., and Glen, Pictou; son-in-law, Harold McGaugh, Florida; daughters, Colleen "Collie", Caribou River; Maxine Kennedy (Richard Murphy), Westville; grandsons, Mark, Tommy, Craig, Brian, Ronald, Darcy, Trevor, Justin, Josh, Matthew; granddaughters, Tamara, Amber, Sharon, Krista; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Henderson, Wilbert Henderson, both of Seafoam; sisters, Gladys Battist, Lyons Brook, and Marion Palmer, Rice Point, P.E.I. She was predeceased by loving husband, Alfred; beloved daughter, Janice McGaugh; grandson, David McGaugh; granddaughter, Kathleen Flowers; brother, Fred Henderson; sister, Catherine Jewers. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, October 3, in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, in St. James Anglican Church in Pictou with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Reception to follow in St. James' Hall.
