Raymond A. Langille, 84 was U.S. veteran; longtime resident of
Ashby
ASHBY, Raymond A. (Ozzie) Langille, 84, of 180 Greenville Road,
passed away Monday evening, Dec. 18, 2006, after a long illness.
He was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on March 8, 1922, the son of
the late Leon and Winifred (Hunt} Langille and lived in Ashby for
over 60 years.
During World War II, Mr. Langille served his country for three years
in the U. S. Army. He was happiest when surrounded by family.
He worked as a mason, especially designing fireplaces and was a
skilled craftsman teaching others.
Mr. Langille died at the home he lovingly built 55 years ago for his
wife, Barbara L. (Billings) Langille and his children, Scott B.
Langille of Ashby; four daughters, Sheila, wife of Mike Ellis of New
Hampshire, Sandra Cross of West Virginia, Susan, wife of Denis
Cormier, Fitchburg, Sallee, wife of Michael Brazeil, Ashburnham and
James Carder fiance of Sandra. He also leaves 14 grandchildren; a
brother, Leon Langille of Lunenburg; an uncle, George Hunt of North
Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a
daughter, Sherilyn Langille Carmichael; a brother, Edmund Langille;
and a son-in-law, Jeffery L. Cross.
Donations can be made in Mr. Langille's name to the Ashby
Congregational Church or the Ashby Fire Department.
