George Burton Langille

LANGILLE, George Burton - 61, Bayview, Pictou Co., passed away June
7, 2005, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, after a brief illness.
Born August 9, 1943, at home in Bayview, Burton was a former member
of the Pictou Highlanders. Through the years he had been employed
with National Sea as a truck driver, as an electrician at the Pictou
Shipyard, a long haul truck driver, and eventually opened and
operated Langille Ice in Pictou. He was retired from work due to
disabilities. Burton is survived by his wife, Lynn; daughter, Susan
and her children Jeff and Katy, all of Bayview; son, Daniel
(Michelle) and their children Raine and Kael, all of Bible Hill;
grandson, Gabe, Three Brooks; his mother, Marion, and brother,
Robert, both of Bayview; sister, Sally, Loch Broom. There is a large
extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins spread from coast to
coast. Burton was predeceased by his grandmother, Maggie Johnson; his
father, Harry, and his brother, Jimmy. Munroe's Island stands as a
testament to Burt's love of nature. Due to his tireless efforts, it
is there for people to enjoy for all time. Visitation will be held 2-
4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service
will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church,
Pictou, with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Seaview
Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be
made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Nature
Conservancy Board.
