LANGILLE, John Frederick "Jack" - It is with both joy and sadness
that we announce the passing of our father, John Frederick "Jack"
Langille, age 71 years, Matheson Street, Westville, on Friday, August
29, 2003, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his
family. He was a son of the late Charles Alfred and Rhoda (Hemmings)
Langille. Jack was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of
the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35, Westville. He worked in the
produce department for Dominion Stores for several years, and later
for several years worked for Sobey's. He is survived by his wife,
Helen (Stewart); daughters, Joanne Keating, Pictou Landing; Cathy
Spears (Dave Fulton), White Hill; Donna Marie (Derrick Jardine),
Westville; Susan MacInnis (Dale), Plymouth; Zella Langille (Ken),
Toronto; Rhoda MacDonald, Stellarton; sons, Jerry (Marlene),
Massachusetts; Randy (Carolyn), Westville; John "Marty" (Paula),
Dartmouth; Mike, Toronto; 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is also survived by sisters, Gladys Leadbeater, New Glasgow; Mary
MacDonald, New Glasgow; brothers, Alfred Langille, Pictou, and
Garfield Sutherland, Westville. He was predeceased by sister,
Charlotte Tanner. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. Sunday in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral
service will be held 2 p.m. Monday in St. Bees Anglican Church,
Westville, Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Cremation will follow.
The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35 will conduct a service at
6:30.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be
made to Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35.
