Frances Isabelle Ferdinand (nee Langille)
d. November 21, 2004
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving
mother. Her long struggle with cancer ended at home on Sunday,
November 21, 2004. Gone before her was our dear father Willis
Ferdinand. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Brown)
Langille of Westchester. She was also predeceased by brother, Fred
Langille; three infant siblings, Freeman, Stella and an unnamed boy.
A former teacher, Frances dedicated the majority of her life to her
family. She loved poetry, nature and family gatherings. Left to
validate her life's work are her children - Jan, Pat, Nancy (Ray)
LeBlanc, Kathy (Ivan) Illsley, Bob (Naomi), Glenn (Heather), Stephen
(Joanne), George (Judy) and her twenty grandchildren. Frances is
survived by sisters, Ruth Carter, Eleanor Brown; brother, Leaman
Langille; sisters, Irene McGinn, Dorothy (Deverne) MacDonald, Phyllis
Scott; sister-in-law, Maureen Langille. She is also survived by
family members Wint (Polly) Ferdinand, Roberta (Russell) Stewart,
Carson (Jackie) Ferdinand, Brenda (Jim) Fisher and thirtyone nieces
and nephews. Her earthly remains are resting at the Mattatall Funeral
Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Visitation will be Wednesday 2 to 4 PM
and 7 to 9 PM. Service to be held Thursday at 2 PM in the Wesleyan
Church in Westchester with Reverend Arnold Stairs officiating. Burial
at the Eagle Hill Cemetery. Reception to follow at Westchester Fire
Hall. Donations can be made to Eagle Hill Cemetery or Westchester
Wesleyan Church.
