LANGILLE, Allister Gordon 71, Shubenacadie, passed away on November 22, 2008, at Wynn Park Villa, Truro, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Springhill,
he was a son of the late Robert Burton and Mabel (Ross) Langille.
Al served nine years with the Royal Canadian Navy, worked for Air Canada, and was a life insurance salesman, and attended the Million Dollar Round Table, Texas. He also crossed the Arctic Circle on-board the C.C.G.S. Labrador on November 22, 1970. Al was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion, Shubenacadie Lions Club, and Sports and Recreation. Al was also a model train enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Stella (Dingle);
daughters, Susan (Richard) Ingraham, Shubenacadie; Peggy (Scott) Oliver, Beaver Bank;
grandchildren, Leah Langille, Jenna Ingraham, and Ryan Ingraham;
nieces, Nancy, Christine, and nephew, Rob.
He was predeceased by brothers and their wives, Roy (Anna), Morley (Liz) Langille, and brother Willard in infancy.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.
Interment 10:30 a.m. May 2, 2009, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East.
A reception will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008, at 111 Mill Village Rd., Shubenacadie.
Family flowers only.
Donations in memory of Al may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses.
