BATTIST, Henry Clifford - 81, Sundridge, Pictou Co., passed away September 8, 2003, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax.
Born in Sundridge, Henry was the youngest son of the late Clifford and Margaret (MacKay) Battist.
He was the beloved father of Ronald (Laverne), Linda (Doug) Eddy, Manton (Anita), Robin (Roy) McIntyre, all living in Pictou County.
He will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Wade (Lesley) and Lynn Battist, Michael (Kerri) and Michelle Casey, Cheryl (Richard) Heighton, Cory Battist, Jannah and Shaelyn McIntyre;
great-grandchildren, Ronnie, Emily, Thomas, Kiana, Kira, Gregory, Reilly and Keely;
brother, Reginald, Sundridge.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Lois (Langille);
brothers, Orville "Bob" and Stanley.
Henry was a long-time electrician at Ferguson Shipyard, Pictou and was a skilled carpenter.
He was also a member of the Canadian Hereford Association, and found pleasure in country living, and spending his life working the family farm in Sundridge. Each spring Henry faithfully looked forward to his beloved Leafs hoisting the Stanley Cup.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, where a private funeral for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Alan Stewart officiating.
Burial will be in Cariboo River Upper Cemetery.
Donations in Henry's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
