Edith Dorothy Pearl Langille (Munro)

LANGILLE, Edith Dorothy Pearl - 76, of the Maritime Oddfellows Home, and formerly of Wellington Street, Pictou, passed away April 28, 2006, in the home. Born September 16, 1929, in Three Brooks, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Jane (Burke) Munro. Pearl was a long-time active member of the Princess Rebekah Lodge, No. 4, Pictou, where she held numerous offices, including Noble Grand, and District Deputy President. For her dedicated service, she was presented the highest award in the Order, The Decoration of Chivalry, in July 1993. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant of the I.O.O.F., where she was past president. As well, she was a lifetime member of the Women's Missionary Society, a choir member in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou, and member of their Women's Association. In her younger days she was very active in square dancing, and always enjoyed a good game of cards. Pearl was an avid quilter who enjoyed teaching and helping other quilters. She is survived by son, Barrie (Ann) Moland, Hammonds Plains; daughter, Dorothy (Wayne) Henderson, Haliburton; son, Lindsay (Susan) Moland, Braeshore; grandchildren, Donald, Joanne, Sherri, Chelisse, Aumrey; great- grandchildren, Tamara, Tyler, Kyle; brothers, Alex Munro, Lyons Brook; Barrie Munro, Sydney. She was predeceased by first husband, Aumrey Moland; second husband, Alfred Langille; brother, William Munro. Visitation was held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou, Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Maritime Oddfellows Home or St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
