BIGNEY, William Archibald - 82. Born in 1925 in Welsford, Pictou Co., a son of the late Harvey and Ella (Langille) Bigney, he passed away peacefully with his sister by his side in Willow Lodge Home for Special Care on Saturday, May 12, 2007. William was a farmer and carpenter, and also worked in the garage in Welsford with the late James A. MacKay. William loved the woods and had set up his own mill, of which he was very proud, and enjoyed cutting small logs, making lathes for the fishermen and different things, always enjoying the company of others. He was a willing worker at Mountain Road Cemetery. He loved the old-time music and the dances. He is survived by sister, Florence (John) Craib; nephews, David (Norma) Steven, and niece, Cheryl (Sandy) Ross; he was great-uncle to Brandon and Brianna Craib, Catherin, Duncan and Laura Ross. He was predeceased by two sisters in infancy. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in MacLeod's Funeral Home, River John. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, in St. George's Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeanette Fleischer officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald Sutherland. Interment in Mountain Road Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in William's memory may be made to Mountain Road Cemetery or St. George's Presbyterian Church.
