Aubrey Arthur Hiltz

HILTZ, Aubrey Arthur, CD - 72, son of Percy and Jennie Hiltz of Martin's River. It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Aubrey Hiltz, who died peacefully in his sleep at home in Blockhouse, with his family by his side after a six month struggle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Bruce, in infancy; sister, Amy (Jardine). He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn (Langille); sons, Michael, Pond Inlet, NU; Kendall (Cathy), Dartmouth; Jerome (Tanya), Hatchet Lake; Bradley (Vicki), Newcombville; Sheldon (April), Maitland; daughter-in-law, Crystal; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Katie, Stephanie, Jacob, Tia, Rachel, Jessica (Chancy), Joshua, Benjamin, Bethani; foster grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Caitlin; brothers, Calvin and Percy, both of Martin's River; sister, Isabel Mason, Bridgewater. He served 23 years with the Canadian Armed Forces and was employed at National Sea for 12 years. Aubrey enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved being outdoors, watching the birds, gardening, camping, spending time at his cabin on the lake, playing cards, making wine and spending time on the computer. Aubrey loved all of his grandchildren and they loved and adored him in return. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all. Funeral services will be held in Sweeny's Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 19, at 2 p.m., James Woolner officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
