BAKER, Mary M. - 89, Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg,
formerly of Tancook Island, went to be with her Lord,
February 22, 2003, in the home.
Born on Tancook Island,
she was a daughter of the late Howard and Bridget (Langille) Mason.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a member of Tancook Baptist Church and choir for many years.
Mary loved to sing.
Surviving are son, Dewitt (Donna), Tancook Island;
daughter, Verna Stevens, Halifax;
grandchildren, Lisa, Laura and Lynn Baker, Darrell and Glenn Stevens, Rhea Scott, Tina Sampson;
great-grandchildren, Daniel Stevens, Curtis and Graham Scott,
Daniel, Jody and Morgan Stevens, Jennifer Sampson;
brothers, Murray Mason, Halifax;
Howard Mason, Dayspring;
sisters, Margaret McLaughlin and Blanche O'Leary, both of the United States;
Dora Cross, Tancook Island;
Carrie Kehoe, Bridgetown; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Percy Baker;
10 brothers; nine sisters;
son-in-law, Perlis Stevens.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester.
Funeral service will held 9 a.m. Tuesday in Chester United Baptist Church,
Rev. Dan Green officiating.
Burial in Tancook Island Cemetery.
Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tancook Baptist Church
or a charity of choice.
Ferry service will leave Chester Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for the Island, returning at 1:30 p.m.
A special thank you to the staff at Harbour Haven for the exceptional care to Mrs. Baker.
