LANGILLE (MASON), SADIE IRENE - 86, Martins Brook, died Sunday, January 18, 1998,
in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg
Born on Big Tancook Island
she was a daughter of the late Stanley G. and Rhoda M. (Stevens) Mason.
At age 15, she began working at her parents grocery store on Big Tancook Island
and worked there for 28 years.
She was an avid gardener and flower lover, and also hooked and braided traditional Tancook rugs.
She was an adherent of the United Baptist Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by daughters, Linda (Mrs. Les Silver), Yarmouth
Maxine (Mrs. David Davies), Martins Brook
son Donald and wife Sylvie, Berwick,
Grandchildren: Ivy (Mrs. Kevin Byrne) Halifax Christine Davies, St. John's, Nfld. Pamela Langille, Calgary, Alta. Holly (Mrs. Bryan Harris), Berwick David Langille, Berwick Davina (Mrs. Blair Umlah) Hatchet Lake Michael Silver, Ottawa
Great-Grandchildren: Michael Harris, Berwick Joshua Langille, Berwick Katherine Langille, Berwick Brendan Byrne, Halifax David Umlah, Hatchet Lake Evan Umlah, Hatchet Lake
She was predeceased by her husband Whitman;
brothers: William, Leslie and David
sisters: Lillian, Stella, Emma, Bertha and Hazel
Great Grandchildren: Yvonne and Ian.
Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg,
from where funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. A.D. (Bill) Newell officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
Flowers from immediate family only.
Memorial donations may be made to Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, or to any charity.
