William G. "Bill" Treby

William George (Bill) Treby, 69, 81 MacKay St., New Glasgow,
died Wednesday, April 24 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Rhonda Valley, South Wales,
he was a son of the late John H. and Susan (Rossiter) Treby.
He was a resident of New Glasgow most of his life,
and was an adherent of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow.
He was a former employee of MacLean, Johnson and Williams Limited, New Glasgow.
He later joined the New Glasgow police force,
where he was a member for 15 years, retiring as sergeant.
He was then appointed as high sheriff of Pictou County, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Albion Masonic Lodge 5, New Glasgow.
A veteran of the Second World War, he was also a member of Branch 34,
Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Langille;
two daughters, Anne (Mrs. Daniel Chisholm),
Lynn (Mrs. Daniel MacGilivary), both of New Glasgow;
two brothers, Vernon, Point 44,
Thomas, Halifax;
five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Clarice;
three brothers, Reginald, John, Ronald.
