FARNELL, Jennie Mae - 83, Upper Musquodoboit, passed away November 4, 2002,
in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, Middle Musquodoboit.
Born in Tatamagouche Mountain,
she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ada (Langille) Murray.
She attended Tatamagouche Mountain School and went on for further education at
Pictou Academy, receiving her teaching diploma from Truro Normal College.
Her teaching career started in Hutchinson Section, Upper Musquodoboit.
She then went on to Tatamagouche Mountain, returning to Upper Musquodoboit
where she was principal at Henry Section School.
She was then principal at Upper Musquodoboit Consolidated School,
where she retired after a 33-year teaching career.
She was a member of UCW, a life member of WINS,
sang in the church choir at St. James United and took an active part in the community.
Her family and church activities were the most important part of her life.
Surviving are daughter, Dianne Johnson, Upper Musquodoboit;
sons, Murray (Dianne), Enfield;
Richard (Valerie), Greg (Karen), both of Middle Musquodoboit;
eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Pearl (Millard) Charman, Wallace;
Hilda Ross, London, Ont.;
brother, Leonard (Hazel), Tatamagouche Mountain;
John (Doris), Pugwash;
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband, Gordon "Bub";
sisters, Lettie Frame, Hazel Latta;
brothers, Bruce and Clifford.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today and funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday,
both in St. James United Church, Upper Musquodoboit, Rev. Gary Burrill officiating.
Burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
Donations may be made to the Musquodoboit Valley Health Foundation,
Palliative Care or St. James United Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Co-operative, Upper Musquodoboit.
