Leroy Allen "Roy" Mader

MADER, Leroy Allen "Roy" - Maitland.
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Roy,
surrounded by loving family on Monday, July 24, 2000,
in the Palliative Care Unit of the Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.
Born December 21, 1924 in Lynn, Mass.,
he was the eldest son of the late Moyle and Elsie (Langille) Mader.
He was a dairy farmer for most of his life and enjoyed wood working in his retirement years.
He was husband and best friend to Arlean (Robar);
father of Catherine (Dale) Rafuse, Marriott's Cove;
Allen, Maitland;
Susan (Glenn) Toope, Northfield;
Janet (Charles) Stevens, Maitland;
Annette (Donnie) Berrigan, Head of St. Margaret's Bay;
Steven, Lake George, Kings Co.
Grampie to Courtney and Kevin Stevens;
Alexander and Gregory Rafuse;
Meghan and Lauren Toope.
Also survived by brother, Robert, West Clifford
and mother-in-law, Charlotte Robar, Mahone Bay.
He was predeceased by sister, Marion Bruhm.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. today in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Bridgewater,
Lic. Penny Bailey officiating.
Private graveside interment to follow.
Family flowers only.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the V.O.N.,
Palliative Care Unit of the Health Services Association of the South Shore
or Blockhouse Cemetery.
There will be no visitation in the funeral home by request.
