Nellie Blanche Barter-Hyer (nee Morash)

BARTER-HYER, Nellie Blanche - Chester, in her 100th year,
Nellie, one of God's sweetest angels and dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,
died Friday, July 5, 2002, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elva (Langille) Morash.
Nellie will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She was the kindest, most lovable lady who could not do enough for everyone.
She worked for many years for her church, where she was organist for over 40 years.
She was the recipient of the Diocesan Medal of Merit from the Archdiocese of Halifax in January 2001.
She was president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Butler Branch 44, Chester, several terms.
Nellie was well-known throughout the province, having lived in Halifax, Milford and different areas as her husband, Frank was a C.N.R. Station Master.
She dearly loved to travel and spoke often of her favourite spot, Hawaii.
She is survived by her daughters, Florence (John) Palmer, Herring Cove;

Corinne (Reg) Ware, Dartmouth;
sons, Frank (Patricia) Barter, Riverview, N.B.;

Patrick (Louise) Barter, William (Wilma) Barter, all of North Bay, Ont.;
Peter (Elizabeth) Barter, Edmonton, Alta.;
Donald (Dorayne) Barter, Vernon, B.C.;
35 grandchildren; 42 great- grandchildren;
brother, Frank (Muriel), Moncton, N.B.;
stepsister, Phyllis MacKenzie, Chester;
stepbrother, William (Lorna) Nauss, East River;
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Barter;
second husband, Chris Hyer;
brothers, Chester and Walter Morash;
stepmother, Minnie (Nauss) Morash;
stepsister, Audrey Nauss;
stepbrothers, Roy, Lewis and Chester Nauss.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, in St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Chester,
Father Brian Murphy officiating.
Burial in the church cemetery.

Bonny Lea Farm or a charity of one's choice.
