BURNS, Robert Laird Bordon "Rob" - 88, Dartmouth,
died December 17, 2000, in Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born in Tufts Cove,
he was a son of the late John and Marguerita "Maggie" (Langille) Burns.
A lifelong resident of the North End area of Dartmouth,
he always took great interest in politics and his community.
He served in the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War.
He was a carpenter and shipwright by trade.
Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Winnifred Weare;
son, Robert Ernest "Bob", Calgary;
brothers, William "Bill", Edward "Ted";
many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters,
Beatrice "Beattie" Hartley, Helen Strum, Susan Foggoa;
brothers, John, Sidney, George, Ronald.
No visitation by request.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Wednesday,
in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth.
Burial in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
Donations to Canadian Cancer Society.
