McCALLUM, Percy - 93, North River, passed away peacefully October 5, 2000,
with his family by his side.
Born in North River,
he was a son of the late Isaac and Emma (Lynds) McCallum.
He worked as a machine operator with the Department of Transportation until his retirement.
He lived in North River most of his life and
was an adherent of the North River United Church.
Percy enjoyed fishing with his friends following his retirement.
He was loved and respected by his family, friends and community.
He is survived by daughters, Shirley (Keith) Pratt, North River;
Doris Grant, Eleanor (Doug) Robertson, all of Truro;
Phyllis (Olaf) Shellard, Vancouver;
Lois (Bill) Spinney, Lucille (Keith) MacKenzie, all of Salmon River;
Evelyn (Terry) Innes, Ottawa;
daughter-in-law, Shirley McCallum, East Mountain;
sons, Archie (Faye), Truro;
Morris (Rose), Murray (Muriel), all of North River;
32 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Carrie Langille;
daughter, Verna Hamilton; son, Dexter; two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service on Sunday at 2 p.m., all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Douglas I. MacEachern officiating. Reception following the service.
Burial in Aenon Cemetery, North River.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North River United Church or a charity of choice.
