LANGILLE, William Gordon - 97, Tancook Island,
died August 12, 2000, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born on Tancook Island,
he was a son of the late Titus and Emma (Young) Langille.
He was a farmer and fisherman and
retired from the Department of Transportation and Public Works
after many years of service as a crew member aboard the Tancook Island ferry.
He was the oldest living male member of the Tancook United Baptist Church
and the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by son, LeRoy, Chester Basin.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Inez Oline Fleet;
son, Thomas in infancy;
brothers, Angus, Winton, Hazlett "Harry";
sisters, Elva, Essie, Vanava, Elitha, Olive, Elmira.
Visitation 2:30-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester.
Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in Tancook Island Baptist Church,
Pastor Phillip Williams officiating.
Burial in the church cemetery.
Family flowers only.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Tancook Island Baptist Church.
Refreshments will be served at the Recreational Centre for family and friends
prior to and following the funeral service.
Ferry service will leave Chester on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., returning at 4:30 p.m.
