MacGREGOR, Robert Allison - 62, Welsford, Pictou Co.,
died Sunday, January 3, 1999, in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.
Born in Cape John,
he was a son of Hazel (Langille) MacGregor, IOOF Home, Pictou, formerly of River John,
and the late George David MacGregor.
He operated a large dairy farm in Cape John for a number of years,
winning many awards for his efforts and love for his animals.
He fished for a short time and owned a small lumber mill.
He enjoyed tug of war and playing hockey.
He also enjoyed watching hockey and baseball and telling a good story.
Survived by his wife, the former Anne Murray with whom he operated A and
B Shell for the past 11 years;
sons, Donald William (Margie), Alexander Gowan (Cindy), both of River John;
daughter, Lisa Allison Smith (Michael), Barrington Passage;
grandchildren; Robbie, Jason, Alyssa, Brittany, Casey MacGregor; Colton
and Mattie Smith;
stepson, Steven Swantee, Woodburn;
sisters, Sarah Craig (Donald), Grace Swantee, Christene Johnson (Earl), Kathleen
Baillie (Robert), all of River John;
Marie Park (John), Cambridge, Ont.;
brother, James, Calgary; several nieces and nephews.
Visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today at MacLeods Funeral Home River John.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday from Salem United Church,
River John, Pastor David Eagles officiating assisted by Rev. Donald
Sutherland. Burial in Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations
to Hamilton Cemetery of charity of choice.
