BAILLIE, William Raymond - 70, River John, Pictou Co.,
passed away peacefully at home, December 20, 1999.
Born November 15, 1929, in Mountain Road, River John,
he was a son of the late Henry and Christine (MacGregor) Baillie.
Having retired from the Department of Transportation and Public Works as a machine operator.
He then founded and operated Baillie's Lumber.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and
gardening. His summer vegetable stand will be missed by many.
Bill was a member of Salem United Church, having served on the Board of Stewards.
Bill was an honorary member of the River John Fire Department
and a charter member of the River John Lions Club.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Muriel (Fluff), Langille;
daughter, Deborah (Alan Richman), Ottawa;
sons, Raymond (Leona) and Donald (Heather), River John;
seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
sisters, Anna (James) Baillie, River John;
Marguerite (Keith) Robblee, North Wallace,
Eleanor Sutherland, Poplar Hill;
brothers, Kenneth (Marg), Toronto;
Jack (Janet), Troy; Angus (Evelyn) and Ronald (Norma), all of River John.
He was predeceased by a sister in infancy.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of MacLeod's Funeral Home, River John.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, in the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 23,
in Salem United Church, River John,
Pastor David Eagles officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald
Sutherland.
Interment will follow in Mountain Road Cemetery.
Family flowers only by request.
In lieu, donations may be made to a local charity of your choice.
