Janie Elizabeth Donaldson
February 22, 1910 - December 20, 1999
DONALDSON, Janie Elizabeth - 89, Tatamagouche,
died December 20, 1999, in the Willow Lodge Home for Special Care,
where she has been a resident for the last five years.
Born February 22, 1910 in Brule,
she was a daughter of the late George and Jessie (Langille) Fraser.
She attended the Normal College, Truro,
and taught school for a few years in French River, Melville, Balfron and
Brule Point.
She was a lifelong resident of the Tatamagouche area
where she was a member of Sharon United Church
and the Beacon Hill Unit of the U.C.W.,
the Missionary Society and the Sewing Circle for 65 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1967.
She is survived by son, Gordon (Shirley), The Falls;
grandchildren, Nancy (Ira) Drysdale, Wallace;
Phillip (Charoline), Malagash;
Robert, Truro and The Fall;
Dianne (Scott), Tatamagouche;
David, The Falls;
great-grandchildren, John Gordon Mattatall, Wallace and Digby; Christina Mattatall, Wallace;
sisters, Ellen Hayman, Annie Vincent, Edna (Malcolm) MacLeod, all of
Tatamagouche;
Kay Cunningham, Moncton;
Lillian (Don) Sutherland, Truro;
brothers, Hughie (Allene), Tatamagouche;
William (Jean), Brule;
David, Hamilton;
sister-in-law, Joyce (MacLellan) Fraser;
several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by brothers, George and Henry;
sisters-in-law, Jessie (Sutherland) Fraser, Dorothy (Langille) Fraser,
Dorothy (Weatherbie) Fraser, Janie (Donaldson) Bell,
Margaret (Donaldson) Fenton, Florence (Donaldson) Hopkins;
brothers-in-law, Noble Hayman, Orrin Vincent, Hector Cunningham, George Donaldson.
Visitation 6-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday,
both in Brule Union Church, Brule, Rev. Bonnie Kelly officiating.
Burial in Lockerby Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
