CROOKS, Oscar Theodore (Oc) - 71, Maple Street, Trenton,
died March 5, 1998, at home.
Born in Trenton,
he was a son of the late Thomas and Sadie Bertha (Langille) Crooks.
He served overseas during the Second World War with the North Nova's
and
was POW in Germany for 18 months.
He was employed at the former Hawker Siddeley, Trenton,
before and after the war and also with the former Clay Pottery
and hauled coal for a number of years.
He was an avid baseball player and fan.
He was a member and former choir member of First United Church, Trenton
and a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29, Trenton.
Surviving are daughter, Debbie, MacLellans Mountain;
son, Shawn, Little Harbour Road;
sisters, Kay Miller, Carolina;
Vesta Clark, Westville;
Rose (Mrs. Claude MacIntosh), Hillside;
half-sister, Jean Jenkins, Trenton;
two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Helen Crooks;
sister, Muriel Foote.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, legion service 6:30 p.m. Sunday, funeral 1 p.m. Monday, all in P.K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow, Rev. Stephen Fram and Rev. Foster Jenkins officiating.
Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only.
