NOWE, Capt. Morris Daniel - 69, Lunenburg,
died Monday, June 1, 1998, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, New Infirmary Site.
Born in Back Centre, Lunenburg Co.,
he was a son of Kathleen (Nowe) Nowe, Back Centre,
and the late Morton Nowe.
He was a fisherman all of his life,
working with National Sea Products, Lunenburg, as a deep sea captain, retiring in 1988.
Morris was involved in many organizations throughout the area with memberships as an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, ruling master of Unity Lodge 4 of AF&AM;
president of the Lunenburg Rod and Gun Club;
executive member of Nova Scotia Wildlife Federation,
and a committee member of Nova Scotia Fisheries Exhibition and Fishermen's Reunion.
He was a faithful member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife,
the former Barbara Langille;
daughters, Stephanie (Mrs. Mike Morris), Halifax;
Bonita (Mrs. Ken Matheson) Bangor, Me.;
Susan Joy, Charlottetown;
son, Derek, Lunenburg;
grandchildren, Breanne, Marshall and Samantha;
sisters, Joan (Mrs. Mervyn Feener), Back Centre;
Linda Wentzell, Back Centre;
Janet (Mrs. Ray Jones), Salisbury, N.B.;
brothers, Boyd and Eric, Centre;
Cedric, Garden Lots.
He was predeceased by his father, Morton,
sister, Dorothy Rose.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.
Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg,
Archdeacon Reg-inald MacDonald officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
No flowers by family request.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg Rod & Gun Club, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to any other charity.
