The historic Log Church, Loch Broom, was the setting of a lovely fall wedding on Oct. 21 when Rev.Gordon Moase united in a double ring ceremony,
Debra Ann White and Robert Ian Langille.
Debbie is the daughter of Stewart and Betty White, Durham.
Bob is the son of Marion Langille, Bayview, and Harry Langille ,Pictou.
Soloist was Dottie MacMaster. She was accompanied on the organ by Beulah Clarke. Songs performed were,"He" and "Walk Hand In Hand With Me".
Given in marriage by her father,
Debbie wore a full- length gown of ivory bridal satin which was made by her mother.The fitted lace-covered bodice was enhanced with embroidered lace trim and seed perals.A large bow adorned the back, above the train,which was scattered with lace appliques.The gown bottom was also edged in lace.She wore a two tiered veil of tulle illusion attached to a head piece of satin flowers and pearl trim. To complement her gown, the bride wore a pearl necklace with matching earrings, gifts from the groom. She carried a cascade bouquet of dusty pink and ivory roses with lace and scattered baby`s breath.
Maid of honour was Wendy White, sister of the bride.She wore a royal blue satin ballet -length dress with a low V-back featuring a large bow and ruffled hemline. She carried a nosegay of dusty rose, white and blue carnations.
The flower girl was Jenna White, niece of the bride. She wore a white floor length dress accentuated with royal blue ribbons. Jenna carried a basket of flowers similar to the maid of honour.
Best man was Dave Nichol, friend of the groom. He wore a black tuxedo with royal blue bow tie and cummerbund.
Ushers were Danny White, brother of the bride and Burt Langille, brother of the groom.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with a black bowtie and matching black vest.
For her daughter`s wedding, Mrs White chose a royal blue two-piece dress suit. She wore a pink rose corrage.
Mrs. Langille chose a cranberry street- length dress. She wore a white rose corsage.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance was held at the Caribou District Fire Hall. Glennie Langille was the Mistress of Ceremonies. A toast was made to the bride by her brother Danny.
Out of town guests were present from British Columbia, Ontario and New Brunswick.
The couple took a wedding trip to the White Mountains, New Hampshire. They will reside in Three Brooks. The groom is an employee of Northumberland Ferries Ltd.;and the bride is employed with the N.S. Dept. of Fisheries in Pictou.
