A very pretty wedding was quiety celebrated in Halifax at the Nova Scotia Hotel on Sunday when Miss Thelma Gwendolean Langille, daughter of Mrs. David Menzie, Tatamagouchewas united in marriage with Mr. Freeman Kenneth Stewart,son of the late Mr. L.C.Stewart and Mrs. Stewart, Stellarton.The ceremony performed by Rev. Geo. Whidden of Tatamagouche was witnessed by the immediate families and a few intimate friends.During the signing of the register Mr. Roland Langille accompanied by Mrs Ells Langille sang,"O Promise Me".
The bride looked charming in a dress of honey beige crepe with black hat and accessories,and wore a corsage of Tallsman roses. After the ceremony the bridal party retired to a private dining room where they were served a delicious wedding luncheon . The table was centred with an artistically decorated two - tiered wedding cake and was colorful with bouquets of blue delphiniums,pink snapdragons and white phlox.Baskets of gladioli were used to decorate the room.
The bride is a graduate of St. John General Hospital and has recently been on the staff of the Cambridge Hospital,Mass. The groom is a graduate of Dalhousie University an after winning an overseas I.O.D.E. scolarship from Oxford University, Mr. Stewart who spent this summer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, has been appointed to the staff of Pictou Academy.
After a motor trip through the province the young couple will reside in Pictou. Both bride and groom have many friends throughout the Maritimes who wish them many years of happiness.
