Pictou, St.Andrew`s Presyterian Church,
was the scene of a pretty summer wedding on Saturday, August 8th, at 2pm
when Rev. Walden B. Moase performed the double ring ceremony
uniting in marriage,
Bonita Marie Langille daughter of Mr &Mrs Milton Langille, MacKay St., Stellarton,
and Michael Trent Fraser son of the late Thomas Harold{Bud} Fraser and
Florence and Douglas Siddall, Pictou
and grandson of Mr. &Mrs. Harold Fraser, Mount Thom.
James Moir,organist played the nupital music and
Mrs.Vera MacDonald sang, O Perfect Love, at the beginning of the service
and Walk Hand in Hand
during the signing of the register.
The bride, given in marriage by her father
wore a floor length bridal gown fashioned with a sweetheart neckline,
lace bodice and long sleeves adorned with seed pearls.
The fullskirt of peau de soie fell gracefully into a self-train.
Her 2 tier finger tip veil of tulle illusion trimmed with lace was
held in place by a Juliet cap.
She carried a bouquet of red roses intermingled with baby`s breath.
Mrs. Marlene McCann was her sister`s matron of Honour, and wore a fitted
gown
of yellow floral nylon organza over polyester complemeted by a picture
hat.
The bridesmaid was Cindy Fraser, Sunnybrae,a close friend of both the
bride and groom. Cindy chose a fitted gown of green floral polyester and
a picture hat.
Tanya White cousin of the bride was the flower girl.
Dressed in a white floral gown, she carried a bouquet of wild flowers.
Thomas Babineau of Pictou was best man.
The usher was Bert MacLean, Pictou.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs Langille, chose a full length gown in an of
burgundy polyester,with matching accessories.
The groom`s mother, Mrs. Sidall wore a full length gown in an off white
summer suede with which she wore burgundy accessories.
A reception for the immediate families and friends was held at the home of
the groom`s parents.
The bride`s table was covered by a handmade lace tablecloth and was
centered by a 2 tier wedding cake which was donated by the bride`s grandmother, Mrs.
MacGillvary.
The cake was cut by Mrs. Roy Pidgeon neighbour of the groom`s parents,
and passed to their guests by the bride and groom.
The guest book was circulated by Sherry White, cousin of the bride.
Flowers from the bride`s bouquet and the Church were placed on the graves
of the groom's father and his grandparent`s, Capt. and Mrs.Hubert Turner of Pictou.
The bride and groom enjoyed a wedding trip to Halifax.
Out of town guests were present from Amherst, Sydney,Halifax, N.S.and
Brantford,Ont.
The groom is an employee of Michelin and the bride is employed with
Gerald Bent, New Glasgow.
The newlyweds will reside at 469 Brother St., New Glasgow.
