Stellarton - First Presbyterian Church in this town was the setting on August 4, 1990,
when Lorraine Charlena Silver and Sargent Scott Langille
were united in marriage by Rev. Charles McPherson.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Georgina Silver of Linacy.
The groom is the son of Wayne and Eva Livingstone of Westville.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a long white satin gown with a hooped skirt and short puffed royal net sleeves. A headband of silk flowers held her long double veil. The bride also wore a pearl necklace and earrings. She carried a cascading bouquet of red roses, white carnations and baby's breath with fern.
The matron of honor was the bride's sister Sharon Silver. She wore a dusty-rose long satin gown with a v-neck, gathered sleeves, fitted bodice and a dropped waist accented with a back bow. She carried a bouquet of dusty-rose carnations, white and dusty-rose roses and baby's breath.
The two bridesmaids were Cindy MacAulay and Tracy Cornett. They wore long dusty-rose gowns similar to the matron of honor's. They also wore baby's breath in their hair.
The flower girl was Stephanie MacDonald, cousin of the bride. She wore a white ballerina-length dress and carried a small basket of pink and white flowers with baby's breath.
The best man was Tom MacNeil, uncle of the groom.
The ushers were Mark Langille, brother of the groom and Darryll Morrison, a friend of the bride and groom.
The ringbearer was Aaron Penny.
The groom wore a black suit with a red bowtie and a dusty-rose carnation.
The best man, ushers and ringbearer wore gray and blue suits with white carnations.
The bride's mother wore a light pink street-length dress and a corsage of dusty-rose roses with baby's breath. The groom's mother wore a street-length white dress with a floral print and a corsage of dusty-rose roses.
During the ceremony, soloist Howard Harris, friend of the bride, sang, Together, Together.
A reception was held at the Air Cadet Hall in Westville. Music was Spider and Roy.
Out-of-town guests were from Ontario.
The couple is residing in New Glasgow.
