1851 Justus Hier, father of Betsy, dies in Canton, New York.

1853. Zebulon Lamphear and David Wood are listed as executors of the estate of Justus Hier.

1854. Around 1854 the family moved to Weyeuwega, Wisconsin and then later Lind Township, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, becoming some of the first settlers of the area. It is said that they traveled in a wagon train with others from New York.

William, their last child was born around this same time, perhaps right before they began to travel west.

1854, July 5 Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Zebulon Purchases 80 acres for $100. Two 40 acre tracts

1855, Feb 5 Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Zebulon purchases 10 acres for $100. Book 4, page 452.

1855, April 2 Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Zebulon purchases 40 acres for $50

1860 Wisconsin Census. On June 8, 1860 Zebulon and his family lived in Lind Township, Waupaca County. They are listed as dwelling #248, family #214 on page 29. By this time Lorinda and George have married and left. Laura has married Richard Woolsey and is residing with the family. The value of Zebulon’s real-estate is listed as $3,000; his personal estate value, $600. He occupation is listed as a farmer.

1893, February 24 Newspaper Article

"Mr. Z. Lamphear an old resident of Lind is very ill."

Commemorative Biographical Record. pages 817-820, under R.J. Woolsey:

"The parents of Mrs. R.J. Woolsey were Zebulah and Betsy (Hier) Lamphear, who came to Wisconsin in 1854, located on a farm in Section 26, in Lind township, where the father thereafter lived. He died in March, 1893, but his widow is still living. hey had four daughters and seven sons. Z. Lamphear was a well-to-do farmer and at one time owned large tracts of land."

Died: March 19, 1893 in Lind, Waupaca County. Cause Unknown. Buried in Lind.
registered by J. F. Corbet of Weyauwega on November 1, 1894.

1893, March 23 The Waupaca Post. Death notice of Zebulon Lamphear.

"Died - Mr. Z. Lamphear on Sunday morning, March 19th of old age. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss. He was a very conscientious and upright man and highly respected by his neighbors. He was 88 years of age, and one of the first to settle on the "Indian Land". The funeral took place from the house on Tuesday at two p.m."
