George Lanphere  (Updated July 12, 2000)  UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Known to many as the "First George".  It is thought that George was the first Lamphear to settle in America.  If a person has been researching the name Lamphear, they will encounter this George several times.  This information is widely published.  Most of the lines off of this first George are documented in E. E. Lanphere's book.  They can also be found at Ancestry.com, in the Family Tree Maker archives and other such databases.

George's Parents
There is reference in the will of a Richard Lampheare who lived in London, dated 12 August 1665.  This Will references a son, George who is currently living in New England.   The Probate record lists Richard's wife as Averina, six unnamed children and John and Elizabeth Lampheare as witnesses.  (from Terry Lanfear's site: Lanfear Family History)
