* Records were not found in these states under common spellings.  It is possible that a
family could be in these areas under an uncommon spelling or misspelling in an index.  
If you feel that there was a family in this area, it would be worth while to search for them
under different spellings.  It is also possible that a Lamphear family could be living in
another household.  For example a newly wed couple could be living with thier in-laws,
thus being indexed under another surname.   Another possibility is that a
family was left out of an index all together.

Note about accuracy:  When using data from the internet, please take the precaution of
looking up the actual document.  Census records are not 100% reliable to start with, then
mix in illegible handwriting, errors in data collected, typos of the compiler, fuzzy microfilm,
etc.  Keeping this in mind, census records can offer a wonderful resource, providing a
guideline for research.
