09-22-1926    John Gilbert, died at Dewittville PQ, age 74 years 06 months. The late John Gilbert was a native of Scotland, born in Uddington, on March 31, 1852. He was a member of the 50th battalion.  On August 21, 1882, Captain Gilbert married Miss Fannie Adams, who survives him.  There are no children.  Funeral held in the Dewittville Church, Interred in Huntingdon PQ.

10-30-1928 Fanny Adams, Widow of the late Captain John Gilbert, died at Dewittville PQ, aged 93 years.She was the last survivor of quite a large family. One sister-in-law, Mrs. Thomas Adams of Malone New York, remains. Her husband predeceased her to years ago. She has been faithfully and patiently cared for by her nephew, Mr. Lyle Gamble, who has lived with her for several years. In her recent illness, three of her nieces, Mrs. Teague Gamble of Montreal, Miss. Margaret Gilbert, of Ormstown, and Mrs.Railey of Masonville have watched over her and tenderly cared for her. Funeral will be held Thursday afternoon in the Church.
