Edwin & Madge were married at the parsonage in Franklin Centre. They lived on their farm at 2362 Covey Hill Road, Lot 48a (Allchin), Franklin Township, Huntingdon County, Quebec, Canada. Edwin never drove a motorized vehicle - tractor, truck, or car. Some people he hired to work on his farm: Wallace Derick, Lena Vaincourt, Andrew Come, Peter Vaincourt.
Edwin is buried in the St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Petite France Road, Noyan, Noyan Township, Missisquoi County, Quebec.

BROOKS, Merle A. -  Merle A. Brooks, 84 of Malone, died Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Fletcher Allen Medical Center In Burlington, Vt.  Born April 28, 1918, in Franklin Center, Quebec, he was the son of Norman and Inez Hannah Brooks.  On Sept. 29, 1952, he married Helen Lamb in Valleyfield, Quebec.  She survives.  Besides his wife, surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Patricia Brooks of Beaumont, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Besler of Utica, Mrs. John (Elaine) Rinaldo of East Greenbush, Heather Brooks and a friend, James Anderick of Hoosick Falls; six grandchildren, Steven, Kevin and Kristen Besler, Robert Rinaldo, and Dylan and Pamela Brooks.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at the North Bangor Cemetery, North Bangor, N.Y. with Rev. Eleanor Bellows officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to the Malone Rescue Squad.  Arrangements are through the Spauling Funeral Home of Malone.
