Elizabeth House of Franklin in the county of Huntingdon Canada East died on the twenty-third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine aged seventy-two years and two months and was buried on the twenty fifth day of the same month and year aforsaid in the presence of the subscribing witnesses by me.

 Franklin Centre ( About 1920) - Obit      "The late Mrs. Hiram Adams"

Funeral services for the late Mrs Hiram Adams of Franklin Centre were held from her late residence on Sunday Jan 4th. Mrs Adams, after a short illness, passed away on Jan. 1st at one o'clock. She was able to take Christmas dinner with her son Merritt and his wife, with whom she had lived for the past 14 years. She was in her 86th year. Her daughter Roxanna J. Adams, and son, John B. Adams, of Boston, were with her last illness. Her daughter Ella M. Schlosser of Prossor, Neb., arrived Saturday morning. She is survived by five children -- John B. Adams and Roxanna J. Adams of Boston; James W. Adams and Mrs E.M. Schlosser of Nebraska; Merritt Adams of Franklin. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. L.W. Curtis, and brother Calvin House, both of Massachusetts; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. she will be greatly missed from her familiar place at the old fireside. The Rev. H. Allenby.
