PRE-1825 MARRIAGE (speculated to have been before 1825 Census)

Levi married Hannah before or during 1828 in Dunham, Missisquoi County, Quebec

. . .  After looking at your website I was interested to know if you have Levi Grimshaw or Ira Lamb in your data base.   Levi was b. abt 1790 and shows up in Robert Stellars book as building a road with Carlton Town in the Russel town area in the 1820's.  My ggggrandfather, Clark Town was living in the area at the time.  He died before 1825, however, near Russel town and I am trying to find where he is buried.  Levi married his daughter Hanna. . . .

. . .   I descend from Clark Town and Phebe Lattin through their son Clark Town, Jr. born in Quebec 1818.  Hannah was a sister.  She was born about 1808.  Carlton was the oldest born 1804  and his sister Keziah b. 1806 were baptised in Dunham at the Methodist Church.  She married Nathaniel Thurstin.  Carlton shows up with Levi in the book "Hemmingsford Two Hundred Years by McKenzie, on the South half lot 169 between 1820 and 1830.  They later show up in St. Lawrence Co., NY around 1836. Clark Town, Senior died before 1825 near Russel Town as Phebe, his wife, shows up in the 1825 census as Pheba Town with 8 children.  She later marries a Shephard/Shepard and have one more child and move to St. Lawrence Co.  I am trying to find where Clark Town is buried and if there might be any record of his death.  I would be happy to share any information and you can certainly give my name and address to other Grimshaw researchers. Lamb's show up in St. Lawrence Co. about the same time, living near the Town's, and Grimshaw's and I thought there might be a connection. Other Town children were: Richard, John, Maryette and Phoebe.  . . .

"Now came an unbroken stretch of forest, 3 miles long, for, until 1820, there was not a clearance in or near the site of the village of Chrysostom.  As the track turned southwards to the flats, three Canadian families were met, Sylvia, who came in 1815, Richard, and Percheron.  On the north side of the English river were Levi Grimshaw , who came, accompanied by Petty, from England in 1812."

Researcher: C. G. Lamb, 24 FE 2006.   Note:  I speculate that Levi came from New England not England.
