We are again called upon to chronicle the death of an old resident of Egremont, Mr. Zephaniah Grimshaw, who died on Wednesday 22nd inst.  The deceased was born in the county of Huntingdon, province of Quebec, about sixty-six years ago, and came with his mother and two sisters to Mount Forest when he was about nineteen years of age, his father having been killed in the American War.  He lived here six or seven years and then moved to Lot 9, Con. 9 Egremont , where he resided until his death.  He was married twice, his first wife being Miss Amelia Gay, daughter of the late Eli Gay of Mount Forest.  Some few years after settling in Egremont his wife died, leaving him with five small children to care for -- three sons and two daughters.  He was afterwards married to Miss Mary Reid, who with his five children survive him.  His sons are Albert, living in Pinconning, Michigan, Joel at home, and Edwin at Cook's Creek, Manitoba and his daughters are Mrs. Thomas H. White of Arthur township, and Mrs. Alex McCreight of Holstein.  He is also survived by one brother and two sisters - Charles of Chicago; Mrs. Eli Gay, of St. Joseph's Island; and Mrs. John Rivers of Gold City, Michigan.  He was a kind husband, a loving father, and a good neighbor.  In religion he was a Methodist, and in politics a staunch Conservative.  His funeral on Friday last was largely attended, the services being conducted by Rev. Mr. Truax, Holstein.    The pallbearers were -- Arch. McCaw, Jno. McDonald, Jno. Hunter, P. Dickson, W. T. Petrie and Alex Rawn.
