County Court Proceedings.

A regular term of the County Court convened at the court house in Canton on Monday, Sept. 1st, at 2 o'clock, p. m„ Judge John M. Kellogg presiding with Justices Raymond and Stocking as associates. There was no grand jury in attendance this term. As a consequence the court was able to proceed directly with the directly upon the calender. The civil calender numbered thirty three causes, twelve of them being appeals for new trials and twenty being appeals from justice's courts upon question of law only. We notice the ones that were tried or argued:

William Grimshaw vs. George Kelly. This was an action of trespass, for breaking and entering the plaintiff's close in the town of Hermon. On the trial in the court below the defendant was allowed to dispute the plaintiff's title to the premises and the plaintiff was nonsuited. The plaintiff appealed and the cause was argued here. The court reserved its decision. H. D. Ellsworth for the appellant, G. C. & W. H. Sawyer for the respondent.
