PLATTSBURGH Beulah M. Guay, 86, of Evergreen Valley Nursing Home and formerly of McMartin Street, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000. She was born in Ellenburg on Jan. 5, 1914, the daughter of John and Pearl (Grimshaw) Malark. Mrs. Guay married Arthur Guay at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh in 1937. She was a member of St. Peter's Church. Mrs. Guay owned and operated Guay's Grocery Store & Cottages on Margaret Street for 35 years. Later, she was a matron/cook at the Clinton County Sheriff's Department until her retirement in 1984. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kathy Guay of Plattsburgh, Andrew and Margaret Guay of Cadyville and John Guay of Saratoga; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mrs. John (Beverly) Ferrara of Plattsburgh and Rhonda Guay of Plattsburgh; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bernard Malark of Warwick, R.I., Robert and Betty Malark of Florida, Kenneth Malark of Warwick, R.I., and Morris and Barbara Malark of Providence, R.I.; one sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Donald (Luella) Conrardy of Cranston, R.I.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1986; an infant son, Ronald Guay; one brother, Clayton Guay; and two sisters, Loretta Bird and Frances Baker. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Northeastern New York Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center, Sibley Hall - Suite 227, 101 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
