The House Built for Joseph Beaudin |

This house was built by "Hy Adams and George
Sproule." The lumber was purchased from Felix
Meaghan's. The finishings were made in Athelstan at the
Sash and Door Factory. The construction was started in 1907
& completed in 1908. The house was built for Joseph
Beaudin & wife Katherine Costello. Joseph was one of
the first French speaking people to settle in Franklin Township.
He operated the creamery for his father who lived near St.
Chrysostome. Their son, Gerald, became owner of the home in
1938.
This house, at Franklin, is located on the south side of Route
202 just a little east of the Nichols Cemetery and west of the
former Franklin Creamery.
