50. William Henry Frankenberry ⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 7 Jul 1825 in St. James MD.⁽⁴⁹⁾ In his study, Kenneth T. Frankenberry writes the following about William Henry Frankenberry -

"The seventh child of Samuel Frankenberry was William Henry Frankenberry. His mother was Prussia McDade Frankenberry and was born on 7 July 1825 in St. James Maryland. He moved with his parents to Smithsburg, Maryland where his mother died in 1833. According to tradition, William did not get along with his step-mother, Theresa Knode, leaving home at the earliest opportunity to earn a living as a cabinet maker. He married Susan Sigler (20 October 1826)
on 25 February 1847 and then moved across the Potomac River into Berkeley County, Virginia (West Virginia). William made a living as a builder of threshing machines, also traveling through the South for the manufacturer. He and his wife had ten children: George Russell, Prussia Ann, Samuel Preston, William Henry Jr., Lucy Alice, Amanda Virginia, Susan Elsworth, Charles Sheradon, Mary Elizabeth and Ellie F. Frankenberry. In 1869, William H. Frankenberry moved into the town of Martinsburg WV. He served as Justice of the Peace in Martinsburg until his death on 12 December 1899. His wife Susan passed away two years later on 16 March 1902." He was buried in 1899 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV.⁽⁵⁰⁾ He died on 12 Dec 1899. William H. Frankenberry, father of Amanda V. Frankenberry, is also considered the father of Frankenberry town which used to lie about 1-1/2 miles east of Martinsburg. It is part of present day Martinsburg. William came to Martinsburg shortly after the Civil War and purchased 87 acres from Harry Thomas. In December, 1867 W. H. Frankenberry sold 35 acres to John A. Becker whose family operated a grocery store on Moler Avenue for many, many years.

From the Martinsburg Independent obituary for William H. Frankenberry -

"Wm. H. Frankenberry, aged 74 years, died at his home near town, on last Thursday mornng (12 Dec 1899). He was a native of Smithsburg Md, born there in 1825 and located in this town forty years ago. He was an employee in the Fitz Foundry, then a farmer, then the founder of Frankenberry town, a suburb of Martinsburg, in Opequon district. Served the people favorably and well in various offices, and for the past six years was a Justice of the Peace."

"He was highly respected, known and recognized as a man of truth, integrity and as a very useful citizen, and a Christian of merit, belonging to St. John's Lutheran church. After three years and fifty of married life, the wife of those years, who was formerly Miss Susan Sigler,of Smithburg, survives him, also four children, sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. The children are Mrs. W. E. Tebo, Messrs. George, Wm. II, and Samuel Frankenberry." He was married to Susan Sigler on 25 Feb 1847.

51. Susan Sigler was born on 20 Oct 1826. She died on 16 Mar 1902 in Frankenberry town, WV.⁽⁵¹⁾ She was buried on 18 Mar 1902 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV.⁽⁵¹⁾ From the Martinsburg Herald obituary for Mrs. Frankenberry -

"Mrs. William Frankenberry, a well known and highly respected resident of Frankenberrytown, died at her home in that suburb Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases. She was aged 76 years."

"Mrs. Frankenberry was formerly a Miss Sigler and was a native of Maryland. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, George, Samuel, and William Frankenberry and Mrs. W. E. Tebo."

"The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a faithful member. Interment was made in Green Hill cemetery."

Children were:

i. George Russell Frankenberry⁽⁴⁸⁾⁽⁵⁰⁾ was born on 18 Jul 1848. He was buried in 1906 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV. He died on 13 Sep 1906.
ii. Prussia Ann Frankenberry⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 14 Jul 1850.
iii. Samuel Preston Frankenberry⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 12 Aug 1852. He died on 22 Oct 1931.
iv. William Henry Frankenberry Jr.⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 18 Jul 1854. He was buried in 1925 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV.⁽⁵⁰⁾ He died on 14 Jul 1925.
v. Lucy Alice Frankenberry⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 26 Dec 1856. She was buried in 1860 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV.⁽⁵⁰⁾ She died on 22 Aug 1866.
25 vi. Amanda V. Frankenberry.
vii. Susan Elsworth Frankenberry⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 28 Mar 1856.⁽⁵⁰⁾ She was buried in 1863 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV.⁽⁵⁰⁾ She died on 3 Jul 1863.
viii. Charles Sheridan Frankenberry⁽⁴⁸⁾ ⁽⁵⁰⁾ was born on 12 Nov 1864. He was buried in 1867 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV. He died on 12 Jan 1867.
ix. Mary E. Frankenberry was born in 1867. She was buried in 1867 in Greenhill Cemetery, Martinsburg WV.⁽⁵⁰⁾ She died on 3 Aug 1867 in Martinsburg WV.
x. Ellie F. Frankenberry⁽⁴⁸⁾ was born on 12 Jul 1870.
